Why PRATUS® Matters? Angela Barrow Shares the Why Behind Her "Yes"

We sat down with Angela to talk about why she chose to join PRATUS and what she envisions for our future.

Question #1: What was the moment, or insight, that made you realize PRATUS was something you wanted to be part of?

“After nearly two decades leading global emergency management at Chevron, I’ve worked with a wide range of crisis and incident management tools. Each one brought something useful to the table, but most still left critical gaps in how teams coordinate, communicate, and make decisions under pressure. When I was introduced to PRATUS, I immediately recognized a different level of thoughtfulness in how the platform was designed.

My turning point came when I saw how PRATUS brings together the three things crisis leaders fight for during every major incident: clarity, speed, and coordination. It wasn’t just another dashboard or communication tool. It was a platform built with a deep understanding of how crises actually unfold — the chaos, the information gaps, the pressure to make decisions with imperfect data.

That was the moment I realized: This is a system I would have wanted during some of the toughest days of my career.”

Question #2: How does PRATUS align with your personal mission and professional values?

“My personal mission has always been simple: help organizations protect people, assets, and reputation by strengthening their resilience. PRATUS reflects that same philosophy. It doesn’t overwhelm teams with complexity; it empowers them with structure, intelligence, and confidence.

It aligns with my belief that technology should support human judgment, not replace it. In a crisis, people make the difference — PRATUS just gives them the tools to do it better.”

Question #3:  In your experience leading crisis programs, what challenges did you see that PRATUS can address?

"Across global operations, I saw the same challenges repeat themselves:

  • Information scattered across emails, texts, and spreadsheets
  • Leaders making decisions without a single source of truth
  • Inconsistent processes across regions and business units
  • Limited visibility into cascading impacts
  • Difficulty capturing lessons learned in a meaningful way
  • Heavy dependence on technical support, which increases cost and slows down response during drills and real events

Many organizations end up relying on vendors to run their own systems — a dependency that limits independence and drives up operational costs.

PRATUS breaks that cycle.

Reducing Dependency and Increasing Independence

One of the most compelling advantages of PRATUS is that it’s built on existing Microsoft platforms — tools organizations already know, trust, and use every day. That means:

  • Less reliance on specialized vendor support
  • Lower training burden
  • Faster adoption across teams
  • Reduced overall cost of managing an incident
  • More autonomy during drills and real-world crises

Instead of forcing teams into a new, unfamiliar ecosystem, PRATUS meets them where they already are. That familiarity translates into confidence, speed, and operational independence — exactly what crisis teams need when the pressure is high."

Question #4: What excites you about joining the PRATUS team?

“What excites me most is the opportunity to help shape a platform that can truly transform how organizations prepare for and respond to crises. PRATUS is built by people who understand the mission, not just the technology. That alignment matters.

I’m energized by the chance to bring my experience from Chevron and MiraTrac to a team that is genuinely committed to innovation, operational excellence, and protecting communities and critical infrastructure.”

Question #5: How do you see PRATUS elevating crisis response and business continuity for oil and gas organizations?

“Oil and gas organizations operate in environments where risk is constant, and global coordination is essential. PRATUS elevates crisis response and business continuity by:

  • Delivering real-time visibility across assets and regions
  • Standardizing processes while allowing for local flexibility
  • Enabling faster, more informed decision-making
  • Strengthening regulatory and stakeholder confidence
  • Supporting continuous improvement through built-in analytics
  • Reducing cost and complexity by leveraging familiar Microsoft tools
In an industry where minutes matter, PRATUS becomes a force multiplier — helping organizations respond smarter, recover faster, and build long‑term resilience.”
